Canada Night in SoCal – Aug 21

When Warren attends the Pan Pacific Championships this summer in LA, Canada will be there in full force!

A campaign is underway to attract as many transplanted Canadians as possible to attend the Saturday night of the Pan Pacific Championships. ‘Canadians Abroad Los Angeles’ and the Canadian Consulate have agreed to help us promote this to their members. Look for more details from t-shirts to tailgate parties in the coming months! Team Canada uniting as ONE!

We hope that many Canadian swimming families will choose to make attending the Pan Pacific Championships part of their summer vacation plans. Come and stay at Swimming Canada house, sit in the Canada seating section and cheer on the Canadian team. Watch for more details surrounding Swimming Canada House at the Pan Pacific Championships coming soon and plan on attending the Parent information session to be held Saturday April 3rd, immediately following the final session of the Pan Pacific Trials in Montreal.

SWIM CANADA: FRIENDS & FAMILY

If you are going to be attending any of the National and International Swim Meets this summer look into Swimming Canada: Friends & Family Program. which will offer a range of services to its National and International Team parents, Canadian swimming fans, and corporate partners.



SWIMMING CANADA FRIENDS & FAMILY

As part of this program, Swimming Canada will provide assistance in obtaining tickets to specified National and International events and secure preferred rates and services for hotels and transportation through its travel partners. In addition a National Team Parent mentor program will be offered to new parents.

Olympic Day June 23rd

Olympic Day is June 23rd.

Olympic Day was introduced in 1948 to commemorate the birth of the modern Olympic Games on June 23rd 1894 at the Sorbonne in Paris. The goal was to promote participation in sport across the globe regardless of age, gender, or athletic ability. New Training Centre for Barnes



Making the move to the UT High Performance Training Centre in Toronto last fall, this will be the training facility for Warren Barnes until the 2012 Olympic Trials and Games.

2009: Universiade Belgrade

London 2012: Aquatic Centre



As we count down to London 2012, we begin to see the work, concepts, and creativity being brought to life across the pond. The Olympic Pool for the 2012 Games is underway and looking impressive.

TYR: Swim Meet of Champions


This weekend Warren attended the 2010 TYR: Swim Meet of Champions in Mission Viejo, CA. Warren competed in the 100 and 200 Breaststroke at the meet.

After this competition Barnes will be attending a training camp in California for one week, prior to returning to Canada, and preparing for Summer Nationals in British Columbia.







RESULTS:
100 Breaststroke LCM: 1:03.33 (1st)
200 Breaststroke LCM: 2:19.31 (1st)
400 IM Relay LCM: 3:57.23 (1st)
